Many speech correctionists stress the importance of the mother's influence on the speech behavior of the young stutterer. If this influence is actually a strong one it seems logical to suggest that their speech would be different when talking with their mother present (Condition I) than when their mother was not present (Condition 2). The findings of this, experiment question the importance of the mother's influence. |
