A content analysis of annual reports of firms that have consistently placed among the largest 100 American corporations revealed the following changes: (1) There was more information available to the annual report reader in the 1980's than there was in previous decades; (2)a large part of the increased information concerned finances, rather than other operations of these companies; (3) the reports did not become easier to read, but their language became more “interesting.” |
