The relationship between interpersonal communication apprehension and self-efficacy

Title: The relationship between interpersonal communication apprehension and self-efficacy
Author: Hopf, Tim
Colby, Noelle
Appeared in: Communication research reports
Paging: Volume 9 (1992) nr. 2 pages 131-135
Year: 1992-12
Contents: This study examined whether interpersonal communication apprehension (ICA) was more closely related to the self-efficacy or self-worth dimensions of self esteem. A much stronger inverse relationship appeared between self-efficacy and ICA than self-worth and ICA, suggesting that anxiety may be related to feelings of powerlessness.
