Inhoud: Previous research has revealed that individuals have expectations for the behaviors that characterize a developing relationship. The current analysis examined the relationship between the contents of one's expectancies for what happens in an escalating romance and the number of previous relationships in which the person has involved. Logistic regression models compared individuals never having been in a relationship with individuals reporting 1-2 and 3-5 previous relationships. Results indicate that the number and nature of relational actions vary as a function of previous relationship experience. Results are discussed in reference to the existence of higher-order memory structures associated with relational histories.
