Title: An Experimental Study on the Emissions of a Model Gas Turbine Combustor

Appeared in: Combustion science and technology
Paging: Volume 17 (1997) nr. 1-2 pages 11-18
Year: 1997-10-01
Contents: Distributions of temperature and species concentrations in a model gas turbine combustor of can-type were measured for various operating conditions. Effects on emissions of inlet air temperature, swirl number and primary air-fuel ratio were examined. Combustion process in the upstream part of the combustor was accelerated by the increase in inlet air temperature, the resultant higher temperature level throughout the combustor reducing the emission of carbon monoxide. The formation of nitiric oxide, however, is governed by the combination of local temperature and equivalence ratio. Heterogeneous effects are also significant in the pollutants formation and destruction.
