Effects of Solid Length and Heat Loss on an Excess Enthalpy Flame

Title: Effects of Solid Length and Heat Loss on an Excess Enthalpy Flame
Author: Takeno, Tadao
Hase, Kōji
Appeared in: Combustion science and technology
Paging: Volume 31 (1983) nr. 3-4 pages 207-215
Year: 1983-03-01
Contents: A further theoretical study was made on the excess enthalpy flame to examine the effects of the solid length and the heat loss. It was found that an increase in the solid length results in an increase in the critical maximum flow rate above which combustion cannot be sustained, An introduction of the heat loss produces a critical minimum flow rate below which combustion cannot be sustained, and combustion becomes possible only for the flow rates between these critical values. An increase in the heat loss causes a reduction in the possible flow rate range of combustion.
