The parameters such as, the number of atoms in an active centre (n), the number of migration regions (Z0), and the absolute efficiency (rn) of an active centre for the dehydrogenation of 3-carene,α-, and β-pinenes and camphene lo cymene over platinum-alumina catalyst in vapour phase have been evaluated from the theory of active ensembles. On the basis of an experimental relation between the specific activity (an) and the concentration of the platinum on the surface of the support it is possible to calculate the above said parameters. In all these cases the experimental curves of the specific activity do not have a maximum and decrease exponentially with an increase in the concentration of platinum atom in the support. It is concluded that a monoatomic ensemble prevails. Dependence of probability (Pn) of formation of atomic ensemble on the average number of atoms in a migration region is also given.
