Serpula Lacrymans, the true dry rot fungus, is the most deadly form of fungal attack in building timbers and buildings of traditional construction in the UK are particularly vulnerable to this form of decay. The importance of oxalic acid and calcium-bearing materials in the development of dry rot is emphasized and particular attention is given to identifying sources of moisture and the likely timbers affected. |
