The volume of concrete which it is convenient and economic to place in one pour is increasing, but for technical reasons some specifications restrict it. This special feature opens with a report by the UK Construction Industry Research and Information Association surveying current practice and reviewing the literature on large area concrete pours. The report* concludes that limitations on pour size, water-retaining structures excepted, are often unnecessary. |
