A study of three socio-economic groups in their homes in Ankara, Turkey, revealed great differences in the kind of heating preferred and responses to the effects of a very cold winter. Expectations had much to do with degrees of satisfaction, in which the most affluent were least satisfied with their central heating, possibly because it was not under their own control. The research was conducted when the author was with the Department of Architecture, Middle East Technical University. He is now at the University of California. |
