This article examines the use of the word 'spiritual' in educational and curriculum statements since 1944, attempts some analysis of the term within the context of education, particularly with reference to county schools, and offers some practical suggestions with regard to the effects on curriculum and classroom planning of giving priority to the notion of spiritual development. In doing so it challenges the current tendency to regard education and curriculum as interchangeable terms. |
