This is an account of a small investigation into the actual materials used in the R.E. classroom in secondary schools. The schools are in the county of North Yorkshire and responded to a questionnaire sent out from the National Society's R.E. Centre at York. The main findings are that Bible based work and the study of Christianity predominate, that many schools use surprisingly few audio-visual aids and that the majority of text books currently used were first published around the year 1970. |
