This paper reports the results of a survey of 106 first degree graduates taking up their first appointments in one of three manufacturing companies. The findings are analysed according to two main stages of decision-making: the choice of industry as a field, and the acceptance of a job offer. Certain biographical details were investigated in relation to the graduates' job attitudes and behaviour at these two career choice points, and some possible areas of further enquiry are suggested. |
