Circadian rhythms of mRNA concentrations and activities in rat liver

Title: Circadian rhythms of mRNA concentrations and activities in rat liver
Author: Broking, P.
Stahr, Ursula
Hardeland, R.
Geppinger, Gabriele
Appeared in: Biological rhythm research
Paging: Volume 11 (1980) nr. 3 pages 193-197
Year: 1980-11
Contents: In rat liver, the overall concentration of polysomal polyadenylylated mRNA showed only slight temporal variability. However, the proportion of mRNA which can be absorbed to nitrocellulose changed within the diurnal cycle, indicating the existence of rhythms in average poly(A) chain length and, perhaps, age of mRNA. Corresponding temporal patterns were observed in relative mRNA activity and protein synthesis rate in a cell-free translating system from rat liver.
