The susceptibility to erythroleukosis virus was investigated in chicks treated with exogenous erythropoietin (Erythropoietic Stimulating Factor — ESF) before, during and after intravenous inoculation of erythroleukosis virus, strain R. The chicks treated with erythropoietin 1, 2 or 4 days before inoculation of virus, as well as the ones treated 1 day before and 4 times after virus inoculation were found to be less susceptible to the erythroleukosis virus and to have a considerably extended latent period. |
