This article draws attention to an action research methodology which was developed in operations research and is found in the business management literature. Soft systems methodology is outlined and illustrated with an example. In this case, it was applied to a problematic situation encountered in designing an intervention in a small organisation. The example provides a basis for considering its value for both practitioners and researchers in psychology. |
