This paper considers the past and current work of the Course Development and Accreditation Committee of APS in developing guidelines for the accreditation of undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology in Australia. It spells out the Society's assumptions about what skills and knowledge psychology graduates should have and why, and reports on a small survey of CDAC members' views. The case is argued for changes in the content and focus of psychology courses to meet changing needs and to balance the interests of the individual, employers, the science, and die profession. |
