Changing professional practices require revision of the professional ethical code of conduct to ensure adequate protection for patients and psychologists. The development of behavioural measurements and therapies has brought an increasing need for some degree of disrobing by patients. Examples are offered of interventions which may require this, together with a range of suggestions on how to proceed. In particular, emphasis is placed on the value of a written contract signed by all patients, spelling out ethical issues more generally and used routinely prior to intervention. |
