Attitudes to practice among australian clinical psychologists

Title: Attitudes to practice among australian clinical psychologists
Author: Byrne, D. G.
Appeared in: Australian psychologist
Paging: Volume 18 (1983) nr. 1 pages 55-64
Year: 1983-03-01
Contents: A questionnaire assessing atttiudes to clinical theory and practice was administered to a sample of Australian clinical psychologists. Analysis of responses revealed three dimensions of attitudes which were respectively identified as Scientist-Practitioner, Behavioural and Humanistic. These attitudes varied systematically with mesures of theoretical orientation in such a way as to give confidence that they represented valid characteristics of some Australian clinical psychologists. The degree of overlap between these, and dimensions of attitudes derived from a North American study, indicated a consistency between Australian clinicians and their American colleagues.
