General considerations in the research of ethnie minorities

Title: General considerations in the research of ethnie minorities
Author: Callan, V.
McElwain, D.
Appeared in: Australian psychologist
Paging: Volume 15 (1980) nr. 2 pages 181-187
Year: 1980-07-01
Contents: A number of general considerations are presented for the more successful organisation of fieldwork with ethnic minority communities in Australia. Particular attention is given to adequate preparation, the need to recognise difficultes in subject-experimenter communication, and the importance of relevant feedback to the minority community. It is suggested that a businesslike relationship between the investigator and the ethnic group could form the framework for more sensitive and applied research.
