The content of the Australian Psychologist was examined for a 12-year period. Among topics investigated were the journal's composition, authorship patterns, and authors' affiliation. In addition, the methodology, group selected, and subject area studied were also identified for each article. Although changes have occurred the typical article is likely to be authored by a male academic psychologist; his methodology is empirical; and the work reported involves the use of psychological tests with undergraduate students as subjects. |
