Anti-discrimination legislation in Australia is listed, and it is noted that compared with the U.S.A. there has been little impact on selection testing. Validity criteria are discussed and it is suggested that the existing emphasis on empirical validation is misplaced, and that the focus on criticism of tests could be counter-productive and lead to more use of less valid, more subjective assessment techniques. Methods of controlling bias in testing are described. |
