Two hundred and twenty six Australian University students were given two administrations of the Bem Sex-Role Inventory, yielding high test-retest reliability scores. These results were then compared with Bem's American data. Both samples indicate the existence of a core of subjects who are Androgynous. A possible cultural difference with respect to the social desirability of the 'masculine' and 'feminine' characteristics in the Inventory is discussed. |
