The lack of a measure of student adjustment suitable for a New Zealand cultural background, led to the development of a test derived from the Minnesota Personality Scale. Following item analysis of the new test, three sub-scales were retained as discriminating under New Zealand conditions and together form the Canterbury Personality Scale (CPS). This scale was used in a comprehensive investigation of variables in student teacher performance. Data from the investigation are used to provide evidence for the construct validity of the scales, primarily as measures of neurotic introversion, adjusted social extraversion, and morale. |
