The aim of this article is to assist social workers to work with people of Chinese background. The paper is in four parts. Firstly there is an overview of the Chinese community of Australia. This is followed by a description of the main features of traditional Chinese cultural beliefs. Thirdly the human service needs of Chinese people are discussed. Finally consideration is given to the implications for culturally sensitive social work practice. |
