This article is a description of an annual national camping program which was run in Sydney for families with children with AIDS. Staff selection and training, recruitment of the families, establishment of the camp situation and activities are discussed. Difficulties in the management of the camp and the process of interaction between all participants are considered. In addition, some background material concerning the nature of AIDS in childhood, and the occurrence of paediatric AIDS in Australia, is given. |
