This paper describes a group model for women presenting with a variety of assertiveness and relationship issues. The model is a synthesis of awareness and assertiveness approaches. The single sex requirement proved to be crucial in the process of the group and was evaluated as such by participants of three groups surveyed. Two of the exercises especially developed for this model, viz. the 'Interpersonal Pie' and 'Messages - A Reflection' are given in detail. The awareness/assertiveness combination allows the benefits of insight and 'growth' experience within the group's lifetime as well as 'back home' application. |
