This evaluation flowchart offers a sequential framework to assist in the understanding of evaluation projects, by increasing their understanding of evaluation issues and in the conduct of evaluation projects within service organisations. The stages of the sequence are discussed in terms of the tasks involved and the factors influencing their successful completion. Most attention is given to the first two stages - preliminary and detailed planning - which are critical to successful evaluation projects. Such a framework as this flowchart can assist service delivery staff and administrators of service organisations to participate confidently in evaluation projects, by increasing their understanding of evaluation issues and clarifying appropriate tasks and roles for agency staff. It has also proved useful in teaching an introductory topic on evaluation to social work students. |
