Titel: “Why do we need to bring all the children?”
Auteur: Pilalis, Jennifer K.
Verschenen in: Australian social work
Paginering: Jaargang 34 (1981) nr. 1 pagina's 21-25
Jaar: 1981-03
Inhoud: Social workers who work with family groups, using the model of family therapy, are often faced with the query — “Why do we need to bring all the children?” In order to answer this query effectively, it is suggested that social workers need to fully appreciate the conceptual base of family therapy, and thus the base for involving all the children; to be aware of the personal feelings which can be raised for them when working with children and families, and which can contribute to an avoidance of effectively involving all children, even when present; and to develop the skills to operationalise the conceptual base and thus demonstrate to the family the rationale and advantages of all the children being present and involved in the process in a meaningful way.
