School social work has been an almost unexplored service in N.S.W. until very recently. At present three initiatives from different auspices2 are being undertaken in selected schools. This paper outlines some of the work conducted in one inner city primary and infants' school, over an eight-month period in 1975, by a social worker employed within the Department of Youth, Ethnic and Community Affairs. It may illustrate some of the ways in which a social worker might employ skills within the school setting. |
