In this paper we have considered a discrete deterministic inventory model for the situation when the total demand required for a specific time period is fixed with the assumption that the demand increases with time and it increases with (i) arithmetic progression and (ii) geometric progression. It is assumed that no shortages are allowed. Both the cases of equal and unequal number of units produced per production run are considered here. From the example given at the end it is concluded that the cost of inventory is reduced if the units are produced by batches of unequal size rather than those of equal size. |
