The Effect of Interruption on Standard Time

Title: The Effect of Interruption on Standard Time
Author: Conrad, Robert B.
Appeared in: IIE transactions
Paging: Volume 2 (1970) nr. 2 pages 150-156
Year: 1970-06-01
Contents: Intermittent interference with pseudorepetitive operations is investigated to determine the effects of interruption on the task to perform a sequence of motions. An examination is made of several assumptions which underlie the traditional measurement process to determine whether their theoretical validities support the usage to which the measurement process has been adapted. For the experiment conducted, motions were found to be interdependent. The motion times depended, not only on the work performed, but on the sequence in which the work was performed as well.
