This paper describes a fast and flexible family of probability distributions which are suitable for approximating unimodal, Pearson type distributions in simulation exercises. We examine the criteria such a family should satisfy and compare the new curves with other proposed families. A fitting method is described to satisfy various “goodness of fit” criteria. |
