The menu planning problem stated by Balintfy and Gue and Liggett is reformulated. This new formulation remedies the suboptimization found in previous models. The current statement allows the mathematical formulation of constraints relating to color, texture, variety and other esthetic considerations. The optimization problem formulated is a chance constrained zero-one programming problem. |
