On Resilience Characteristics of Some Soils under Repeated Loading* * In view of the present design methods of asphalt-concrete pavements, the deformations induced by traffic loads may be elastic in the sense that they are recoverable; however, they are neither necessarily proportional to stress nor instantaneous. Thus, in keeping with the terminology introduced by Hveem1), recoverable deformations will be referred to as resilient deformations and the corresponding moduli as resilient moduli. |
