A Comparative Study of the Value of Stained Smears and Cultures in the Diagnosis of Gonorrheal Vulvo-Vaginitis 1 1 This communication is based upon work which has been done in the course of the general research upon the subject of vulvo-vaginitis, in children, now being carried on in the service of Drs. John H. Cunningham and Roger C. Graves at the Long Island Hospital, Boston, Mass. The work was made possible through funds granted by the Boston Conservation Bureau. The facts here recorded were obtained from the study of 24 cases of gonorrheal vaginitis. The work has been checked with 2 adult male strains, 1 adult female strain and 14 Torrey strains of gonococci; and with 18 negative infant cases and 6 additional cases of gonorrheal vulvo-vaginitis from sources other than those in the group for study. |
