Contents: In order to be effective expert witnesses at trial, environmental forensic experts should familiarize themselves with the admissibility standards for expert testimony in court. This article describes the rules of evidence as they apply to expert witnesses, as well as the Frye and Daubert standards for the admissibility of expert testimony. The article contains practical advice as how to present one's findings and prepare for a Daubert hearing.
