The involvement of the United States in international rehabilitation efforts has been uneven. This is especially evident in the recent past as the focus of American efforts has been domestic. Yet national boundaries are increasingly becoming dismantled suggesting the need for a more global rehabilitation effort. There are many reasons for the United States to become a leader and a major player including a moral obligation and self-interest as well. |
