Individuals with deaf-blindness are frequently excluded or under served by vocational transition programs in their home communities. The reasons are numerous; sometimes related to the support needs of these individuals' dual sensory impairments, they are more often related to limited program capacity and lack of trained personnel. This article presents case studies of two individuals with deaf-blindness in the vocational transition process and concludes by offering local programs suggestions for building local capacity and training personnel. |
