  A novel HLA-B∗39 allele (HLA-B∗3916) due to a rare mutation causing cryptic splice site activation 1 1 The nucleotide sequence reported in this article has been submitted to Genbank nucleotide database and has been assigned the accession numbers AF098266 and AF098267. The name B∗3916 was officially assigned by the WHO Nomenclature Committee in November 1998. This follows the agreed policy that, subject to the conditions stated in the most recent Nomenclature Report [1], names will be assigned to new sequences as they are identified. List of such new names will be published in the following WHO Nomenclature report.
