Superheroes, monsters, and babies: roles of strength, destruction and vulnerability for emotionally disturbed boys 1 1 In a video project that lasts several weeks, group members create a story in which a doctor appeals to a group of superheroes to help him save sick babies in a ward at the hospital. When asked what the dying children need most, the doctor replies, “They need homes.” The superheroes in the story work together to create a magic potion, the ingredients of which include Love and Hope. When the doctor gives the potion to the babies, they transform into healthy, happy children. The doctor, however, begins to turn into a horrible, beastly monster. He is saved only when the rescued children approach, unafraid, and offer him love.
