3-D Structure from Visual Motion: Modeling, Representation and Observability* * This paper was not presented at any IFAC meeting. This paper was recommended for publication in revised form by Associate Editor Hassan Khalil under the direction of Editor Tamer Başar. 1 1 The estimation of the 3-D structure of the environment from a sequence of images can be cast within the framework of nonlinear systems whose state evolves on certain differentiable manifolds; noisy measurements are performed in projective spaces. We characterize the observability of such models and propose filters to perform the estimation.
