It is known that water is one of the most important natural resources and is essential for the survival and various economic activities, so it has high consumption, which has resulted in increasingly serious problems of pollution and degradation environment. This study aimed to evaluate the water quality of the Reservoir of Bodocongó, in Campina Grande, the state of Paraiba. The study was conducted in the years 2006 and 2007, when they were assessed the following physical, chemical and biological parameters: temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, total dissolved solids, total nitrogen, total phosphorus and fecal coliform. The results showed that the waters of the Reservoir of Bodocongó aren’t in accordance with the standards of quality set by CONAMA Resolution 357/05 to brackish water class one, two and three, and that the launch of domestic sewage and industrial without treatment is the main source of pollution the waters of the reservoir.
