Jaar: 2009
Inhoud: The salinity is a global problem, especially in arid and semi-arid areas, affecting the agriculture in these regions. The objective of this study was to verify the effects of salinity in Leucaena leucocephala growth, nodulation and N, K, and Na contents. The experiment was carried out at greenhouse of the Technology Department of the Faculdade de Ciências Agrárias e Veterinárias, UNESP, Campus of Jaboticabal, state of São Paulo, Brazil. The treatments were distributed in completely randomized design in a 2x3 factorial with five replications. The first factor was the soil type (saline and no saline soil). The second factor was the treatment of inoculation with Bradyrhizobium sp strain, and no inoculation. Soil salinity affected plant growth and nodulation. The SEMIA 6070 and SEMIA 6153 strains were sensible to soil salinity. Soil salinity reduced N and K shoot contents, and increased Na shoot content.Key-words: salt tolerance, nitrogen fixation, Bradyrhizobium.
