Contents: The agroecology should be treated as science, since it generates principles of sustainable agriculture, drawing knowledge of other branches of science which show also decisive for the consolidation of a new development model. The objective of this work was to detect the degree of environmental deterioration at Oiti watershed, in the municipality of Lagoa Seca, PB, caused by all the elements coming from polluting direct way the small catchments. The research was conducted by visiting the study area, according to questionnaires on a sample of 40% of heads of families from rural community. It were evaluated the factors that make the environment variables and practices of conservation of soil and water, detecting the degree of deterioration that there is in the small catchments. The total deterioration of environmental factor was 46.34%, and contribution to the elevation of this index the pesticide variable with 74.86% and complemented by the environment variable with 25.14%. The inadequate management of natural resources, related to contamination by pesticides, fertilizers, improper use of sewage, sanitation, lack of solid waste management practices and soil conservation and water favored the environmental degradation of the Oiti watershed.Key-words: environmental degradation, natural resources, variable.
