Contents: The aim of this experimental and theoretical study was to investigate the character ofmolecular interactions in solutions of cholestanol, a minor sterol constituent in the human body, where it is synthesised in liver. We explored cholestanol behaviour in chlorinated and aromaticsolvents using IR spectroscopy at constant and variable temperatures. Information concerningthe existence of some oligomeric forms of association i.e. dimers, trimers, tetramers etc ofcholestanol are first decrypted by decomvolution of experimental obtained complex spectra inthe specific domain (3700-3200cm -1) of intermolecular H bonding study. Then we usednumerical analysis to obtain values of association constants and other specific parameters foroligomeric cholestanol species.
