A range of Co(II) complexes with Schiff bases obtained through condensation ofsalicylaldehyde with 2-aminothiazole has been synthesised. The stoechiometric formulas ofthe obtained complexes are: [Co(SATZ)2X2]; [Co(SATZ)2]Cl2 where: SATZ = saliciliden 2-aminothiazole; X = Cl-, CH3COO-. Elemental analysis, molecular weight, magneticsusceptibility, molar conductivity determination, electronic and IR spectra were carried out.It has been found out that the ligand is NO bidentate, and the complexes are octahedric,except [Co(SATZ)2]Cl2 which has a tetrahedral geometry. |
