Adaptive Weighted Color Interpolation from Noisy Single Sensor Digital Camera Images

Title: Adaptive Weighted Color Interpolation from Noisy Single Sensor Digital Camera Images
Author: S.S. Vinsley
Appeared in: Information technology journal
Paging: Volume 7 (2008) nr. 8 pages 1200-1203
Year: 2008
Contents: In this study, a novel adaptive edge preserving, edge directed interpolating technique is proposed for color reproduction from Bayer mosaic images along with a nonlinear filter is proposed for removing the impulse noise. In which, the noisy pixels are replaced with the suitable neighboring minimum difference pixel value. Depending on the sharpness of image, the adaptive weighting technique is introduced for interpolation. Experimental results show that the proposed method performs much better than other latest joint denoising and demosaicing techniques in terms of color peak signal to noise ratio.
