A Handoff Technique to Improve TCP Performance in Next Generation Wireless Networks

Title: A Handoff Technique to Improve TCP Performance in Next Generation Wireless Networks
Author: A. Ezil Sam Leni
S.K. Srivatsa
Appeared in: Information technology journal
Paging: Volume 7 (2008) nr. 3 pages 504-509
Year: 2008
Contents: In this study, we propose a new technique based on the information from the Data Link Layer and Network Layer, which reduces the handoff delay and improves the TCP Performance in integrated wireless networks. The Candidate Access Route Discovery (CARD) Protocol is used to identify the Neighbor Routers during handover. The proposed technique is developed to support seamless Intra and Inter System Handoff in next generation wireless networks. The performance of the proposed technique is simulated and the results are also shown in this study.
