Contents: In this study, we propose a new approach for finding the linear equivalence of key stream generators. This study presents two simulated annealing algorithms which have been applied to solve this problem. Both algorithms use genetic operations to modify the candidate solutions. The performance evaluation is carried out for a set of key stream generators and the results are compared with the results of applying genetic algorithm to solve the same problem. The proposed algorithms are able to find the linear equivalence and more effective than genetic algorithm.
